Total Fitouts Sutherland Shire recently undertook a commercial medical fitout project for Nuactive Health, a reputable medical and allied health practice located in Gymea, NSW. Led by Al Bitic and our skilled team, the project aimed to transform an empty commercial tenancy into a modern and neutral space that reflects the excellence of Nuactive Health’s services.
The scope of the project encompassed various areas within the medical practice, including a welcoming reception area, private waiting spaces, a functional kitchenette, multiple treatment rooms, and a spacious physiotherapy space, catering to both clients’ and staff’s needs. Nuactive Health’s interior design concept embraced a neutral colour palette with accents of light wood to create a bright, clean, and calming environment, fostering a sense of tranquillity for clients. The design process involved collaboration with external designers, with Total Fitouts Sutherland Shire taking charge of the fitout to ensure seamless execution.
The front section of the medical fitout showcases large custom signage, capturing the attention of passersby and enhancing the practice’s visibility. Floor-to-ceiling windows with frosted sections provide privacy for clients in the waiting area while allowing natural light to brighten the space. The inviting waiting area features a large bespoke white desk with a glass front for each section, prioritizing health and safety. Merchandise, informative flyers, and medical practitioner certificates are thoughtfully displayed on the desk. To create dimension and visual interest, light wooden VJ panelling is incorporated into the waiting and reception area.
Al and the carpentry team delivered a high-quality medical fitout, focusing on functionality and comfort throughout the treatment rooms. Comfortable couches and chairs are thoughtfully placed in the treatment rooms to put clients at ease and create a relaxing atmosphere. Greenery adds a touch of nature to the spaces, promoting a soothing ambience. In the physiotherapy room, the flooring was strategically split into two different materials, wood and black nonslip flooring, to allow for multi-purpose use. Ample windows and sufficient lighting enhance the airy and fresh feeling of the space, ensuring clients’ comfort during their appointments. High-quality equipment ensures top-notch treatment, and curtains are installed on windows to provide privacy as needed.

The same light wooden flooring is used to maintain consistency in the design.
