The scope of the commercial retail fit out was no small feat, transforming a compact 12m² shopfront, once occupied by an ATM, into a culinary oasis. Despite the spatial constraints, the team ingeniously crafted a functional kitchen and serving area, complete with strategically placed fridges to accommodate the extensive cheese collection. A secure roller door at the front ensures both practicality and security.

The ambience of Church Mouse Cheese is a harmonious fusion of sophistication and Old-World charm. Step into a space adorned in the regal hues of a dark blue Mediterranean style, accented by the warmth of Vicenza Oak light wood joinery and opulent brass detailing. Vintage-inspired touches, such as black old-style handles and European metal-barred window designs, evoke a sense of timeless elegance.

Church Mouse Cheese’s unique commercial design features created by ByProxy Retail, included intricate window displays and wainscoting panelling, adding depth and character to the space. Collaborating with esteemed suppliers like Impact Painting and J&J Joinery meant every element was meticulously curated to perfection.

From manoeuvring oversized fridges through narrow openings to navigating the intricacies of a compact layout, the team encountered compact-size hurdles at every turn. Moreover, adhering to strict construction hours amidst a residential backdrop demanded meticulous planning and coordination.

Despite these obstacles, the Church Mouse Cheese commercial fit out was completed within just under two months. The visionary design, spearheaded by ByProxy Retail, seamlessly transformed a humble space into a culinary sanctuary, captivating the senses and tantalising the taste buds of South Bank’s discerning clientele.
