This modern French patisserie and café, located at Noosa, on the northern end of the Sunshine Coast, was brought to life by the Total Fitouts Sunshine Coast North team. The existing tenancy, situated within the Noosa Village Shopping Centre, was previously a bank of Queensland. The landlord wanted to subdivide the space; and the owners wanted to create an outdoor courtyard for customers. The shop fit team delivered a concept created by Zooi Designs including a defit and clever hospitality fitout transformation.
The project brief was to create a French inspired café fit out, with feature lighting, custom built seating booths, a warm inviting service area with display cabinets and a classical courtyard. A functional commercial kitchen was essential, along with ample storage, comfortable ‘dine in’ seating, custom joinery.
The commercial design team carefully curated a selection of stylish tiles that perfectly complemented the dark timber ornamental cladding of the space. These tiles were hand-selected to ensure they enhanced the overall aesthetic and created a harmonious visual appeal. The combination of the dark timber cladding and the elegant tiles added depth and texture to the interior design.
To further accentuate the dark timber elements, black timber accents were incorporated throughout the space. These accents included feature shelving and an oversized countertop, which added a touch of sophistication and served as focal points within the bakery. The black timber elements created a cohesive and unified look, tying together the various design elements.

These cabinets provided a visually appealing and practical solution for displaying the delectable pastries, allowing customers to easily view and choose their desired treats. The glass construction added a contemporary and elegant touch to the overall design.
To create a warm and inviting atmosphere, a variety of lighting elements were incorporated. Soft downlight lights were strategically placed to highlight specific areas of the bakery, such as the display cabinets and seating booths. Tropical ceiling fans were installed to provide both functional cooling and a touch of exotic flair. Frosted ball pendants added a delicate and ethereal glow to the space, while LED strips provided subtle ambient lighting, creating a cozy and welcoming environment.
To ensure comfort and style for the customers, bespoke seating booths with leather upholstery were crafted. These seating booths were designed to create multiple seating areas and dining spaces, offering a sense of privacy and exclusivity. The leather upholstery added a luxurious and sophisticated feel to the seating booths, enhancing the overall aesthetic of the bakery.
The Total Fitouts Sunshine Coast North said, “The main feature of this hospitality fitout project was the addition of bifold doors, commercial kitchen and courtyard area. Feature wallpaper, bespoke signage, mint accents, shell decals, ornamental timber cladding and mood lighting allowed us to create a homely, intimate French inspired café.”
